Wedding guest in tangerine
Do you ever talk yourself out of wearing something because it ‘isn’t your colour’?
For a friend’s summer Irish wedding, I had my heart set on renting a dress, like I normally do for a one-off event like that. However, I stumbled across an early Victoria Beckham bodycon dress in bright orange at 65% off (yes pah-lease).
Bodycon might feel a bit of an outdated style to some, but it to me seems to be one of those timeless styles that will be always be around.
Plus, orange is not a colour that features heavily in my wardrobe, I tell myself it’s reserved to those with a complimentary skin tone or a big personality (how self-deprecating of me…). So, throwing those reservations aside, telIing myself I could wear the dress rather than the dress wear me, I took the plunge, and I’m so glad I did!
The VB Bodycon
Had so much fun wearing this. I love the bold, clear-cut line across the chest to expose the left arm, while the full-length right sleeve offered the perfect balance for a potentially rainy day in Ireland.
It's a fun, strikingly elegant piece that also serves as a reminder to be bold, experiment with colour, and if in doubt, just go for it!
