The table lamp that steals the show

Whenever people come round to visit, this lamp always gets a shoutout.

Maybe because it’s a bit unusual or dramatic, or because there’s so much texture happening? Maybe it’s because people are surprised they like it; because it doesn’t look like it should fit, but somehow it does?

Or most likely all of the above!

I got this lamp about four years before I even had a house; I just loved it. I could envision it in my future living room. Something about it resonated, and I still feel the same today.

It got uncertain reviews from people around me at the time, mainly on the theme of it being a bit tacky and garish.

And perhaps fair enough!

But somehow in it’s current setting, it’s a statement piece that adds a sense of fun and texture to the room. I cheers me up every time I see it!

The softness of the feathers is emphasised when the light’s on.

And the warm lightbulb brings a sense of calm and ease to an evening.

Embrace bringing some fun into your home! Extend your quirks and weirdness into your home styling and they will rightly be the most talked about. (I mean, I never thought I’d feel so strongly towards a table lamp that I could write a whole blog post about it.. welcome to mid thirties I guess!).
